PRAYER TO THE HOLY ANGELS

PRAYER TO THE HOLY ANGELS

PRAYER OF ST AUGUSTINE TO THE HOLY ANGELS

O God, be propitious to me and guard me all the days of my life! be merciful unto me, and send to my aid thine Archangel, St Michael, that he may defend me against my enemies.

Holy Archangel, St Michael, protect me against all dangers, that I may not perish on the day of judgment. By the grace thou hast merited, and through Our Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, I beseech thee to deliver me from the perils of death.

St Gabriel, St Raphael, Holy Angels and Archangels, come to my aid. Virtues of heaven, be my help and my strength, that no enemy may be able to injure me either by water or by fire, or while journeying; protect me from a sudden and unprovided death, and grant that, sleeping or waking, I may be freed from all danger. Amen.

O MY LORD JESUS CRUCIFIED

O MY LORD JESUS CRUCIFIED

PRAYER OF POPE ST PIUS V., O. P.

1. O my Lord Jesus Christ Crucified, Son of the most Blessed Virgin Mary, open thine Ears, and listen to me as thou didst listen to the Eternal Father on Mount Tabor.

Here say the Apostles’ Creed.

2. O my Lord Jesus Christ Crucified, Son of the most Blessed Virgin Mary, open thine Eyes, and look upon me as thou didst look from the Tree of the Cross upon thy dear Mother sorrowing and afflicted.

The Apostles’ Creed as before.

3. O my Lord Jesus Christ Crucified, Son of the most Blessed Virgin Mary, open thy blessed Mouth, and speak to me as thou didst speak to St John when thou gavest him for son to thine own most beloved Mother.

The Apostles’ Creed.

4. O my Lord Jesus Christ Crucified, Son of the most Blessed Virgin Mary, open thine Arms and embrace me as thou didst open them upon the Cross to embrace the whole human race.

The Apostles’ Creed.

5. O my Lord Jesus Christ Crucified, Son of the most Blessed Virgin Mary, open thy Heart and receive therein my heart, and hear me in all that I ask of thee, if so it be agreeable to thy most holy will.

The Apostles’ Creed.

[Indulgence of 60 days each time, which must be applied according to the intention of the Pope. Plenary once a month.]

ACT OF CONSECRATION TO YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL

ACT OF CONSECRATION TO YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL

Holy Guardian Angel, you were given to me at the beginning of my life as a protector and companion. Poor sinner that I am, I, (name) want to consecrate myself to you today in the presence of my Lord and God, Mary, my Celestial Mother, and all the angels and saints.
I want to unite myself to you today and never more be separated from you.

United intimately with you, I promise to be faithful and obedient to my Lord and God and the holy Church.
I promise to always proclaim Mary as my Queen and Mother and to make her life be a model for mine.

I promise to proclaim my faith in you, my holy protector, and zealously promote the devotion to the holy angels as being, in a special way, protection and help during this time of spiritual struggle for the Kingdom of God.

I ask you, holy Angel of the Lord, all the strength of divine love so that I may be inflamed by it; I ask that my union with you may be for me a protecting shield against the enemy’s assaults.

Finally, I ask you, my holy Guardian Angel, for the most holy Virgin’s grace of humility to preserve me from all dangers so that guided by you I may reach the Heavenly Homeland.
Amen.

ACT OF CONSECRATION TO THE SACRED HEART

ACT OF CONSECRATION TO THE SACRED HEART

(The Holy Father Pope Pius XI wanted the whole human race to be consecrated to Jesus – the universal King – on the last day of the year 1925, with this prayer. He then ordered that the last Sunday of October should be dedicated with solemnity and special ceremony by the whole Church to the eternal Lord of all time, and that this consecration should be said, which is the same as that of Leo XIII, with a few changes. – If not being said in a Church, the word ‘altar’ should be replaced with ‘presence’.)

Most sweet Jesus, redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostrate before Your Altar. We are Yours, and Yours we wish to be; but to be more surely united to You, behold, each one of us this day freely dedicates himself to Your Most Sacred Heart. Many, indeed, have never known You, many, too, despising Your precepts have rejected You. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to Your Sacred Heart.

Be King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken You, but also of the prodigal sons who have abandoned You, grant that they may quickly return to their Father’s house, before they perish of wretchedness and hunger. Be King of those whom heresy holds in error or discord keeps far away, call them back to the harbour of truth and the unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one fold and one Shepherd.
Be King of all those who even now sit in the shadow of idolatry or Islam, and do not refuse to bring them into the light of Your kingdom. Look, finally, with eyes of pity upon the children of that race, which was for so long a time Your chosen people, and let Your blood, which was once invoked upon them in vengeance, now descend upon them also in a cleansing flood of redemption and eternal life.

Grant, O Lord, to Your Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm, unto all nations give an ordered tranquillity; bring it to pass that from pole to pole the earth may resound with one cry: Praise to the divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to it be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
