O Eternal God, Father Almighty, who didst give thine only Son to be born of a woman and to be made the Son of Man that we might be made adopted sons of God, grant us indeed to be thy children; and be thou now and ever our Father; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

The sun is sinking fast,
The daylight dies;
Let love awake, and pay
Her evening sacrifice.
As Christ upon the Cross,
In death reclined,
Into his Father’s hands
His parting soul reclined,
So now herself my soul
Would wholly give
Into his sacred charge,
In whom all spirits live;
So now beneath his eye
Would calmly rest,
Without a wish or thought
Abiding in the breast,
Save that his will be done,
Dead to herself, and dead
In him to all beside.
Thus would I live; yet now
Not I, but he
In all his power and love
Henceforth alive in me –
One sacred Trinity,
One Lord Divine,
Myself for ever his,
And he for ever mine!

Holy St Joseph, Spouse of Mary, be mindful of me, pray for me, watch over me.
Guardian of the paradise of the new Adam, provide for my temporal wants.
Faithful guardian of the most precious of all treasures, I beseech thee to bring this matter [mention your request] to a happy end if it be for the glory of God and for the good of my soul. Amen.
Sun of my soul, thou Saviour dear,
It is not night if thou be near:
O may no earth-born cloud arise
To hide thee from thy servant’s eyes.
When the soft dews of kindly sleep
My wearied eyelids gently steep,
By my last thought, how sweet to rest
For ever on my Saviour’s breast.
Abide with me from morn till eve,
For without thee I cannot live;
Abide with me when night is high,
For without thee I dare not die.
If some poor wandering child of thine
Have spurned to-day the voice divine,
Now, Lord, the gracious work begin;
Let him no more lie down in sin.
Watch by the sick; enrich the poor
With blessings from thy boundless store;
Be every mourner’s sleep to-night
Like infant’s slumbers, pure and light.
Come near and bless us when we wake,
Ere through the world our way we take;
Till the ocean of thy love
We lose ourselves in heaven above.

Dear St Lucy, your beautiful name signifies light. By the light of faith which God bestowed upon you, increase and preserve this light in my soul so that I may avoid evil, be zealous in the performance of good works, and abhor nothing so much as the blindness and the darkness of evil and sin.
By your intercession with God, obtain for me perfect vision for my bodily eyes and the grace to use them for God’s greater honour and glory and the salvation of all men.
St Lucy, virgin and martyr, hear my prayers and please obtain my petition (mention your request). Amen.
ST PEREGRINE: PATRON OF THOSE WHO SUFFER FROM CANCER.
O God, in St Peregrine you gave us an outstanding example of faith and patience.
We humbly ask you that, by imitating him and by the help of his prayers, we may believe more fully in your healing help, bear the suffering of this life without wavering, and come with joy to the peace of heaven.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
