CHAPLET OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

CHAPLET OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

BLESSED SACRAMENT BEADS

Say on the medal – Spiritual Communion: “My Jesus, I believe that thou art present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love thee above all things. I desire to receive thee into my soul. Since I cannot now receive thee sacramentally, come, at least, spiritually into my heart. I embrace thee, and I unite myself entirely to thee, as if thou hadst already come; do not permit me to be ever separated from thee.” – St Liguori

Say on each bead (33):

“Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, have mercy on us.”

[The Holy Father has granted to the entire world an Indulgence of 300 days each time the above ejaculation is recited.]

LORD JESUS, RECEIVE MY SOUL, AMEN

LORD JESUS, RECEIVE MY SOUL, AMEN

DIVINE JESUS

Divine Jesus, Incarnate Son of God, Who for my salvation didst vouchsafe to be born in a stable, to pass thy life in poverty, trials, and misery, and to die amid the sufferings of the Cross, I entreat thee, say to thy Divine Father, at the hour of my death: “Father, forgive him,” say to thy beloved Mother: “Behold thy son,” and to my soul: “This day thou shalt be with me in Paradise.”

My God, my God, forsake me not in that hour. I thirst, yes, my soul thirsts after thee, who art the fountain of living waters. My life passes like a shadow; yet a little while, and all will be consummated. Wherefore my adorable Saviour! from this moment, for all eternity, into thy hands I commend my spirit. Lord Jesus, receive my soul. Amen.

[His Holiness Pope Pius IX., by a decree of the Sacred Congregation of Indulgences, June 10th, 1856, confirmed an Indulgence of three hundred days, to be gained by all the faithful every time that they shall say the foregoing with contrite heart and devotion.]

PRAYER TO THE EUCHARISTIC HEART

PRAYER TO THE EUCHARISTIC HEART

O Eucharistic Heart, O Sovereign love of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hast instituted the august Sacrament in order to dwell here below in our midst, in order to give to our souls thy Flesh as food, and thy Blood as drink; we believe firmly, Lord Jesus, in that supreme Love which has caused thee to institute the Most Holy Eucharist.

Here before this Victim, it is just that we should adore this Love, that we should acknowledge and exalt it as the life-giving centre of thy Church. This Love urges us to approach thee. Thou seemest to say to us: “Behold how I love you! In giving you My Flesh to eat and My Blood to drink, I desire by this close relation to awaken your love and to unite you to Myself. I wish to effect the transformation of your souls into that of your crucified Saviour, Who is the Bread of eternal life. Give me then your hearts, have life by living in Me, and you will live in God.”

We recognise, O Lord, that such is the call of thine Eucharistic Heart. We thank thee, and we are ready – yes, we will respond to it. Grant us the grace that we may be fully penetrated with thy sovereign Love, by which, on the eve of thy Passion, thou didst invite us to partake and to eat of thy Sacred Body. Imprint deeply in our inmost souls the firm resolve to respond faithfully to this invitation. Grant us the devotion and reverence necessary to honour and receive worthily the gift of thine Eucharistic Heart, bestowed as a last mark of thy Love.

May we thus be enabled by thy grace to celebrate effectually the remembrance of thy Passion, to repair our offences and coldness, to nourish and increase our love for thee, and to keep for ever alive in our hearts the seed of a blessed immortality. Amen.

[Three hundred days Indulgence every time when recited before the Blessed Sacrament exposed. A Plenary Indulgence if recited once a day for an entire month, together with at least half an hour spent in adoration once a week before the Blessed Sacrament under the usual condition of Confession and Communion. These Indulgences are applicable to the souls in Purgatory. (Rescript June, 1902.)]

PRAYER FOR A HAPPY DEATH

PRAYER FOR A HAPPY DEATH

PRAYER OF ST FRANCIS XAVIER TO ST MICHAEL FOR A HAPPY DEATH

O powerful Protector of those who invoke thee, holy Archangel Michael, defend me against the attacks of Satan every moment of my life, and, above all, when the Sovereign Judge shall call me to render to Him an account of all my actions and of my fidelity in the accomplishment of His holy law. Amen.

ANTIPHON TO THE ARCHANGEL MICHAEL

St Michael Archangel, defend us in the day of battle, that we may not be lost in the dreadful judgment.

REPARATION PRAYER TO JESUS IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

REPARATION PRAYER TO JESUS IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

REPARATION PRAYER TO JESUS IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

Jesus, my God, my Saviour, with that lowly homage with which Faith inspires me, I worship thee, true God and true Man; with my whole heart I love thee, enclosed in this most august Sacrament of the Altar, in reparation for all the acts of irreverence, profanation, and sacrilege, which, to my shame, I may ever have committed, as well as for all those which have ever been committed, or ever may be committed in ages yet to come.

I adore thee, my God, not indeed as much as thou deserves to, nor as much as I ought, but according to the little strength I have; and fain would I adore thee with all the perfection of every rational creature. Meantime, I purpose, now and forever, to adore thee, not only for those Catholics who adore thee not and love thee not, but also for the conversion of all heretics, schismatics, mahometans, jews, idolators, and wicked Christians. Ah! my Jesus, may all men ever know, adore, love, and praise thee, every moment, in the Most Holy and Most Divine Sacrament. Amen.

[Partial Indulgence of 200 days, each time, to everyone who, with contrite heart, devoutly recites this reparation to Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament, together with the ejaculatory prayers that follow. – Pius VII, Jan. 21st, 1815]

Ejaculations.

I adore thee every moment, O living Bread of Heaven, Great Sacrament.

O Divine Jesus, Heart of Mary, vouchsafe to bless me.

Holiest Jesus! loving Saviour! I give thee all my heart.
