SOLEMNITY OF CHRIST THE KING, RESPONSORIAL PSALM (PSALM 121)

SOLEMNITY OF CHRIST THE KING, RESPONSORIAL PSALM (PSALM 121)

R.: I rejoiced when I heard them say: “Let us go to God’s house.”

I rejoiced when I heard them say:
“Let us go to God’s house.”
And now our feet are standing
within your gates, O Jerusalem. (R.)

Jerusalem is built as a city
strongly compact.
It is there that the tribes go up,
the tribes of the Lord. (R.)

For Israel’s law it is,
there to praise the Lord’s name.
There were set the thrones of judgement
of the house of David. (R.)

TODAY’S PSALM (PSALM 8)

(Week 28 of the year: Saturday)

R. You gave your Son power over the works of your hand.

1. How great is your name, O Lord your God,
through all the earth!
Your majesty is praised above the heavens on the lips
of children and of babes. (R.)

2. When I see the heavens, the works of your hands,
the moon and the stars which you arranged,
what is man that you should keep him in mind,
mortal man that you care for him? (R.)

3. Yet you have made him little less than a god;
with glory and honour you crowned him,
gave him power over the works of your hand,
put all things under his feet. (R.)

ALLELUIA

Alleluia, alleluia!
Speak, Lord, your servant is listening:
you have the message of eternal life.
Alleluia!
