A LITANY OF REPARATION

A LITANY OF REPARATION
FOR RECITAL DURING ADORATION OR ANYWHERE ELSE

Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.

God, the Father of Mercy, – have mercy on us. (repeat after each line)
God the Son, Mediator between God and man,
God the Holy Spirit, Enlightener of hearts,
Holy and undivided Trinity,

O Sacred Host! Victim of reparation for the sins of the world,
O Sacred Host! Immolated on the altar for us and by us,
O Sacred Host! Despised and neglected,
O Sacred Host! Outraged by the blasphemies of men,
O Sacred Host! Neglected and abandoned in your temples, – have mercy on us.

Be merciful unto us, – spare us, O Lord.
Be merciful unto us, – hear us, O Lord.

For so many unworthy Communions, – we offer You our reparation, O Lord.
For the irreverence of Christians,
For the continual blasphemies of the impious,
For the infamous discourses made in Your holy temples,
For the crimes of sinners,
For the sacrileges which profane Your Sacrament of Love,
For the coldness of Your children,
For their contempt of Your loving invitations,
For the infidelity of those who call themselves Your friends,
For the abuse of Your grace,
For our unfaithfulness,
For our delay in loving You,
For our tepidity in Your holy service,
For Your bitter sadness at the loss of souls,
For Your long waiting at the door of our heart,
For Your loving sighs,
For Your loving tears,
For Your loving imprisonment,
For Your loving death, – we offer You our reparation, O Lord.

That You spare us, that You hear us, – we sinners beseech You, hear us.
That You will make known Your love for us in this Most Holy Sacrament, –
That You will vouchsafe to accept our reparation, made in the spirit of humility, – we sinners beseech You, hear us.

Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, – spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, – hear us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, – have mercy on us, O Lord.

(With Ecclesiastical Approbation – Archdiocese of Chicago)

“I RENEW MY BAPTISMAL VOWS”

“I RENEW MY BAPTISMAL VOWS”
I renew my Baptismal Vows. I renounce satan with all his works and pomps. I take Jesus Christ to be my model and my guide and I promise to be faithful to Him until the end of my life. Amen.
I beg of You, my Lord God, to keep satan and all other evil spirits who wander throughout the world chained in hell and spare us from all their temptations.
My Lord God, even now I accept at thy hands cheerfully and willingly with all its anxieties, pains and sufferings whatever kind of life and death it may please thee to be mine.
Amen.

“HELP ME, O LOVING MOTHER”

“HELP ME, O LOVING MOTHER”

O Mother of Perpetual Succour, you whose very name inspires confidence, help me, O loving Mother.

That I may be victorious in the trying time of temptation, help me, O loving Mother.

That I may arise again, should I have the misfortune to fall into sin, help me, O loving Mother.

That I may break asunder any bonds of Satan in which I may become entangled, help me, O loving Mother.

Against the seductions of the world, evil companions, bad books and bad electronic media, help me, O loving Mother.

That I may soon return to my former fervour, should I ever become lukewarm, help me, O loving Mother.

In my preparation for the Sacraments and the performance of my Christian duties, help me, O loving Mother.

In all the trials and troubles of life, help me, O loving Mother.

Against my own inconstancy, that I may persevere to the end, help me, O loving Mother.

That I may be able to induce others to love and serve, and to pray to you, help me, O loving Mother.

To my last hour, to my last breath, help me, O loving Mother.

MARY, MOTHER OF GOD – PRAYER MEDITATION

SOLEMNITY OF MARY, MOTHER OF GOD: JANUARY 1

“You will conceive and bring forth a Son. He will be great and will be called…the Son of the Most High.” (Lk 1:30-32)

REFLECTION:

How could anyone think that Mary has no power?

She deserves to be called Daughter of God the Father, Mother of God the Son, and Spouse of the Holy Spirit!

– St Bonaventure

PRAYER:

O sweetest Mary, teach me to imitate your Divine Son in everything I do. In that way, I will be a true child of God. Amen
